Before season three of The Vampire Diaries was even in full swing, one hot topic of discussion on VampireDiaries.com was the whereabouts of Bonnie Bennett’s mother. Many TVD viewers agreed that the Bennetts were hiding a huge secret, and that Bonnie’s mom abandoned her family in order to protect them. Some people even theorized that she was a thrill-chaser and even a witch herself (although this one probably isn’t true since the witch gene skips a generation).
Well, believe it or not, the official search for Bonnie’s mom has begun! According to TVFanatic, a casting notice has gone out for Bonnie’s mom —Abby Bennett. Read her description below:
“38-44, African-American, a beautiful but troubled woman who is burdened by the secrets of her past that led her to abandon her daughter. As determined and fiery as any Bennett woman.”
Abby Bennett certainly doesn’t come off as a bashful individual — she seems more than capable of holding her own. So which Hollywood actress could portray her and do this important role justice? Here are some of our suggestions:
